    Welcome to Duquesne University!

We know that starting college is both exciting and transformative. To help you transition smoothly, we're excited to introduce the FAST (First Year Advisement Summer Transition) program. Designed by the Office of First Year Development, this initiative ensures your entry into the vibrant Duquesne community is seamless.

    Why Attend FAST?
FAST is a must-attend program that offers you and your family essential insights and resources to prepare for your academic journey at Duquesne. Each school offers two specific days for participation, and you only need to choose one that fits your schedule, making it a convenient and personalized experience. While this program is not a requirement, it is highly encouraged for all incoming students and family members to attend to ensure a smooth transition.

    What to Expect at FAST:
Connect with Future Classmates and Student Leaders: Meet your future classmates and student leaders to build a strong support network. Get tips and insights about what to expect during New Student Orientation and Move-In Weekend, making you feel ready and excited for what's ahead.

Meet Your Dedicated Success Coach: Connect with your student success coach, as well as faculty and administrators from your academic school. They will guide you through essential information for your first semester, setting a strong foundation for your academic success.

Interactive Sessions with University Support Services: Gain valuable insights from various university support services, including health services, student involvement, financial aid, dining services, campus safety, and more. This is your chance to familiarize yourself with the extensive resources available to support your university experience.

Obtain Your Official DU Student ID Card and Essential Supplies: Secure your official Duquesne University student ID card, an essential tool for accessing campus facilities and services. At the same time, streamline the process of acquiring textbooks, computers, and iPads/tablets to ensure you're fully equipped for your academic coursework.

Engage with Residence Life and Commuter Affairs Staff: Whether you're living on campus or commuting, connect with the residence life and commuter affairs staff to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable living experience.

Set Up Your Student Bank Account with PNC Bank: Take advantage of the convenience offered by PNC Bank, our on-campus ATM servicer, to set up your student bank account efficiently.

Complete Your Fall Semester Onboarding Tasks: Receive personalized, one-on-one guidance from a trained university employee. They will assist you with completing your federal direct loan application, signing your Master Promissory Note (MPN), navigating the student portal, setting up authorized payers for your student eBill, applying for Parent PLUS loans, and more.

This tailored support ensures you start your academic journey at Duquesne with confidence and ease. We hope you'll join us at FAST to lay the foundation for a successful and fulfilling experience at Duquesne. We can't wait to welcome you to our community!
