Professional Standards & Responsibilities Agreement

By submitting this application, you agree to represent Duquesne University and the Mary Pappert School of Music as a professional affiliate in all Hire-a-Musician engagements. As such, you are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, which include but are not limited to:

Arriving punctually and fully prepared for all scheduled performances
Demonstrating respect, kindness, and courtesy to all hosts, event organizers, and attendees
Conducting yourself with integrity, reliability, and professionalism at all times

By submitting this application, you also acknowledge that you are independently responsible for all logistical aspects of your engagements. This includes coordinating directly with event organizers regarding scheduling, payment arrangements, specific equipment needs, venue setup, dress code, and any other performance-related requirements (e.g., appropriate lighting, sound systems, or staging).

Failure to meet these expectations may result in removal from the Hire-a-Musician database. The School of Music and the university reserve the right to remove any musician from the database at their sole discretion, without prior warning, if the musician’s conduct is deemed inconsistent with the values, reputation, or standards of the institution.
