Trumpet Day 2024

Join Duquesne’s trumpet faculty Micah Wilkinson (Principal Trumpet, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra), Chris Wilson (Brass Area Coordinator and Principal Trumpet, Pittsburgh Opera) for an action-packed day of interactive masterclasses, group warmups, ensemble rehearsals and a live inclusive recital performance to close out the day. Featuring special guest international soloist Ashley Hall-Tighe.


*Open to high school students in grades 9-12 as well as college/university musicians.
 

Check in will begin at 8:30AM followed by morning activities at 9:00am. A breakdown of the day is included below:

9:00am-9:50am Group warm-up with Chris Wilson

10:00am-10:50am Masterclass with Micah Wilkinson

11:00am-12:30pm Masterclass with Ashley Hall-Tighe

12:30pm-1:30pm Pizza lunch is provided

2:00pm-3:00pm Recital that features the Duquesne Trumpet Ensemble, Duquesne Trumpet Faculty, Guest Artist Ashley Hall-Tighe, and a closing participant ensemble performance

Until 4:00pm Enjoy light refreshments and opportunities to socialize after the performances. Representatives from Volkweins and Conn-Selmer will have also extended marketplace hours until 4pm.
