2024 Young Band Commission by Michael Markowski
Membership Deadline: August 15th
Join the Markowski Consortium for his next work with young bands (ca. Grade 2). Consortium members receive pdf score and parts, with their names/school names acknowledged in the score. Membership is available at three price points: $100, $250, and $400. (All Consortium members receive the same benefits; the different price points help to subsidize smaller band programs.) Markowski’s new work will have its first reading at the 2024 Summer Band Symposium on July 2nd. However, you do not need to be present at the Symposium to be a Consortium member. Score and parts will be sent to all Consortium members near September 1st.
2024 Summer Band Symposium at Duquesne University
Registration Deadline: June 15th
This summer’s third annual Summer Band Symposium for school band educators and community band directors features Cheryl and Richard Floyd (Austin TX) as co-clinicians, along with Michael Markowski (2024 Young Band Commission composer). Registration fee includes buffet lunch; parking optional. Participants are encouraged to play in the Symposium’s Reading Band during morning and afternoon sessions.
